Obituary of Audrey Rowat

Audrey died peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit at the Pontiac Community Hospital (CSSS) on Tuesday, April 28th, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Harland Rowat and was predeceased by her parents George and Jane Black, siblings Evelyn, Hazel, May, Beulah, Cortus, Dorothy, Marjorie, Bill, Larry and Frances. She is survived by her sister Florence. She was the cherished mother of William, John (Carmen), Jane (John), Patricia and Mary (Roger). She was the proud grandmother of Anna (Paul), Anja (Nick), Paul (Emily), Simone (Sam), and Sarah and great-grandmother of baby Luke and the beloved aunt of many wonderful nieces and nephews. Audrey was the youngest in a large and loving family and spent a treasured childhood on the farm in Campbell`s Bay. She enjoyed nothing more than a great cup of tea with friends and family. She appreciated art, took great pleasure from nature and cared deeply about animals.Audrey will be especially missed by her close community of caring neighbours with whom she shared so many years of special memories. She was an active member of units 7 and 3 of Shawville United Church and will be dearly missed by her church community. Audrey was very appreciative of the excellent care she received from Tom and Jane O’Neill and was very grateful for their support. Audrey`s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Palliative Care Unit at CSSS for the compassionate treatment they provided. At Audrey’s request, there will be no visitation or public service. A private family service and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Audrey would appreciate donations to Shawville United Church and Animal Aide Pontiac.
