Obituary of Janet Taber (nee Andrus)
Janet passed away very peacefully in hospital, Hull, Quebec, on the morning of July 3, 2023.
She was the loving wife of the late Russell B Taber and a caring mother blessed by her five children Glen (Lise Thomson), Jim (Joy Wintle), Susan, (Geoff Beale), Anne (Denis Nicholas) and Sandy (Blake Draper). She will be missed by her grandchildren Jay-Dee and Elizabeth Antoine Grondin), Corissa (Martin Robinson), Scott (Anne Marie), Guy (Pamela), Christine (Michelle), Dominic (Natasha Hahn), Gabrielle (Joshua Van Noy), Sasha (David Nadon) and Bob’s kids who considered Janet and Russell as grandparents; Caitlin Callaghan (Terrance) and Bethany Beck (Michael). Loving great grandmother to Abigail, Danielle, Hailey, Rosalie, Annabelle, Ruby, Alice, Olivia, Isla, Aidan and Avery and great great grandmother of Oakley.
She was also very close to family members Robert Mellor (Anna) and Donna, Taber (Tom) and Finlay MacLennan. Janet is predeceased by her parents Jack and Marjorie Andrus, her brother Thom, sister in-law Mari, their daughter Robin, sister-in-law Gwen Mellor (nee Taber) and her husband Robert Mellor Sr.
She was also very close to and predeceased by Russell’s first cousin Beth (nee Taber) and her husband Finlay MacLennan Sr.
Janet was a very artistic woman with a great sense of humour. She played the piano, accordion and the organ at Wesley United Church. She designed the stain glass windows at Wesley United Church with the 6 religious seasons in mind.
Friends may call on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Hayes Funeral Home, 1040 Clarendon Street, Quyon, Quebec from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. There will be no visitation on service day. Funeral Service Saturday, July 8, 2023 in Wesley United Church, Beechgrove, Quebec at 2 p.m. Interment Mohr’s Cemetery. Donations to Wesley United Church would be appreciated.
