Obituary of Margaret Hodgins

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Hodgins, surrounded by her family at the Shawville hospital on July 2, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer, in her 78th year.

Proud mother of daughters Cheryl (Greg) and Shelley Martineau.  Margaret adored her grandchildren Ashley (Josie) and Amy (Bryce) Beaudoin, Vanessa Lafleur and Johnathon Martineau.  Most recently she took great delight in being a Great-Grandma to Wyatt and Aliza.

Predeceased by her parents Emery Hodgins and Hilda Ade, son John and brothers Harold, Ervin & Maynard.

Margaret will be missed by her youngest brother Cecil Hodgins (late Cathy), Bill Ade (Margita), sister-in-law and best friend Norma Hodgins as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Up until the last few years Margaret enjoyed life in the country with her beloved German shepherd Buddy, working in the garden, cooking and pickling.  One of Maggie’s (as she was known to close friends) passions was playing darts where her competitive streak could often be seen, she was proud to show off her trophies particularly her perfect 180 score.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Shawville Hospital particularly Dr. Smith, the kindness and compassion we received will never be forgotten.
