Obituary of Jacques St-Cyr

With great sadness we announce that Jacques St-Cyr passed away peacefully at the Pontiac Community Hospital, Shawville, Quebec surrounded by his wife and daughter on Monday, May 29, 2023 in his 71^st year.  Jacques was born and raised in Chapeau, Quebec to the late Odillon St-Cyr and the late Josephine Chaput.   Beloved husband of Claire St-Cyr (nee Demers) for 42 wonderful years.  Loving and wonderful father of Chantal (Jake) and Julie.  Loving and proud Pépère of Liam, Taryn and Taylor to whom he meant the world.

Survived and dearly missed by his sisters Therese (late Edmond), Jackie (late Pete) and Delisca (Jacques).  Predeceased by his brothers Bernard (Katie), Denis (late Marilyn), Donald (Liliane) and sisters Noella (Gilles) and Madeleine (Lucien) as well as his brother-in-law Kenneth (Jocelyne).

Jacques will be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law Donald (late Lucy), Marcel (Arlene), Gerard (Evelyn), Jacques (Delisca), Rolland (late Monique), his sister-in-law Madeleine (late Aurele), his godchildren Jean-Marc, Denis and Francine as well as many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

Jacques was a selfless man.  He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of cars and the outdoors, and the joy he felt when surrounded by family and friends singing along to the strum of his nephews and niece’s guitars.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and sharing how proud he was of them to whoever was near him.  Jacques’ memory will live on by all who cherished and loved him and his family will always share just how incredible of a man he truly was.   

 The family extends their outmost gratitude to the entire staff at the Pontiac Community Hospital as well as Dr. Mutchmore for the kind and compassionate care and services provided to Jacques.  

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 15, 2023 in St. Alphonsus Church, Chapeau, Quebec at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, in memory of Jacques, donations to Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
