Obituary of Colleen Morin

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished sister at the age of 64. She died peacefully at Pontiac Community Hospital with her siblings by her side.  Predeceased by her parents Theo and Mary (McGuire) Morin.  Colleen was the 13th child and 6th daughter of her loving family.

Loving sister of Marion (Remi), Maurice (Helene), Gilbert (Lizette), Keith (France), Theodore Jr., Joseph, Anne, Agnes (Germain), Raymond (Thelma), Laura Lee, James (Peggy), Sharron and Dana (Donald).  Predeceased by siblings Ken, Grace, Richard and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Romain, Raymie Duquette, Gilles Martin and Ken Hampel.  Also predeceased by nieces and nephews Jennifer Romain, Todd Morin, Rodney and Melissa French, Wade Hampel and Olivia Kirk. Colleen will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Karen, and many, many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and her many friends.  Colleen was pure Love and brought immense Joy to everyone around her by her beautiful presence, her joie de vivre, her laughter, her love for life.  She cherished her siblings and loved each of her nieces and nephews who she always said were “mon bébé”.

Colleen spent several years in Campbell’s Bay French Elementary School under the tutorship of Madame Crawford.  She then went on to St. Jerome for her schooling.  She went on to reside in Lachute, Quebec, where she so proudly worked in various work locations for many years.  She boarded with and was very much part of her loving “family away from home” in Lachute.  She was loved dearly wherever she went and always recognized for her excellence as a human being.  It was always a celebration to have Colleen home for the holidays and summer vacation.  She exuded Love and serenity always and had a knack for living life fully and with content.  Tears were always shed when it was time to return to school or work, and Colleen was always able to draw the magic of Love and Compassion from everyone around her.  While Colleen spent most of her life in the Lachute area, in 2015 Colleen was able to move closer to her family.  This made a whole difference in that all her family had full access to her for all kinds of gatherings and outings.  She definitely leaves a lasting impression and in particular on her best friends, Donna, Rosie and Mel.  The family would like to thank Dr Boucher, Dr Drachek, Dr VanderStelt, Lena, Allie and Tyler for their compassion and care.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 5, 2022 in St. John the Evangelist Church, Campbell’s Bay, Quebec at 11 a.m.  Spring interment in parish cemetery.
