Obituary of Kenneth Frank Hampel

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the age of 73.  Son of the late Frank and Ella (nee Charles) Hampel.  Ken leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Anne (nee Morin) and his children, Trevor (Jennifer White) and Sarah (Jonathan Kirk).  Loving Poppa to Nathan, Audrey, Avery, Ella, and Layla.  Predeceased by his beloved son Wade and granddaughter Olivia.

Ken, who grew up as an only child, inherited a big family at marriage and became the much loved brother-in-law to; Marion (Remi), Maurice (Hélène), Gillie (Lisette), Keith (Frances), Theodore Jr, Joseph, Aggie (Germain), Raymond (Thelma), Laura-Lee, Colleen, Jimmy (Peggy), Sharron and Dana (Donald), and to the late Kenneth, Grace, Richard, Lloyd Romain, Raymie Duquette and Gilles Martin.  He leaves behind the many friends and colleagues he worked with at CANMET, friends in Campbell’s Bay and Aylmer, his many relatives in Pembroke, as well as nieces and nephews.  Special thanks to his family doctor, who took such great care, Dr. Ruth Vander Stelt, and the staff at CLSC LeGuerrier in Aylmer and the Pontiac Community Hospital.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in  St. John the Evangelist Church, Campbell’s Bay, Quebec at 11 a.m.  Interment parish cemetery.  All are welcome to join the family for a reception at the Forest Inn, Bryson, Quebec.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Pancreatic Cancer Canada, the Pontiac Community Hospital and/or Bouffe Pontiac would be appreciated.
