Obituary of Leonard Moyle

It is with great sadness that the family of Lennie Moyle announces his passing on February 21st, 2020, at Pontiac Community Hospital. Lennie was the son of the late Peter Moyle and the late Mary O’Reilly. Predeceased by brother Edmund, Lennie is survived by brother Murray (Norma) and sisters Betty, Marguerite (John) and Mary Bea. He is also survived by his adored nephews and nieces Sean (Deb), Jennifer (Mark), Karen, Rob, Heather and Shannon and by great-nephews and great-nieces, Kate, Neil, Julia, James, Liam and Evan. Born with cerebral palsy, Lennie defied his life expectancy of 16 years and met the many challenges he faced with dignity, determination, courage and humour. A man of great faith, Lennie’s love of life was exceeded only by his love of family and the friends he met on his life’s journey. Always tuned in to world events, Lennie was well known for his love of music and his love of sports especially the Montreal Canadians, his beloved Montreal Expos and the Ottawa Rough Riders. Sensitive and gentle of nature, Lennie charmed the staff at the Pontiac Reception Centre where he was a resident. There are no words or gestures that can truly express his family’s appreciation for the exemplary care, compassion and love that he received during his 41 years at the “Home on the Hill”. Mass of Christian burial will take place in St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Bristol, Quebec, at 11:00 on Friday, February 28th, 2020. Spring interment in parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pontiac Reception Centre Foundation or Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. “Go rest high on that mountain, Son, your work on earth is done.”
