Obituary of Ruby Belsher (nee Sparling)

Ruby Leona Elizabeth Belsher (née Sparling), passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age 91 on May 16, 2019 in the CHSLD Pontiac Community Hospital. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Osborne Belsher and her parents, Lulu McCord and Robert Sparling. Ruby was the loving mother of Darlene (Wille Dods), Brent (Audrey Cuthbertson), Shirley (Keith Nuttall) and Karen (David Meredith). Caring Grandmother to Mark Dods (Lucie), Troy Dods, Adam Belsher (Candace), Stephanie Belsher (Edward Anassah), Angela Greig (Jay), Brett Meredith (Sarah), and Morgan Meredith (Joel Turcotte). Proud Great-Grandma of Zachary and Matthew Dods; Payton Dods; Ava, Gavin and Reid Belsher; Addison Belsher-Anassah; and Cadence Greig.

Ruby is survived by her sister Gladys (Allan Johnston), sisters-in-law, Mabel Sparling (the late Myrland) and Marie Sparling (the late Clarence). She is predeceased by her five brothers, Clinton (the late Viola), Marshall (the late Lois), Wilbour (the late Betty), Clarence (the late Faye), and Myrland.

The family is forever grateful to the nursing staff of the CHSLD Pontiac Community  Hospital for the care and compassion they have shown our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother not only over the past few weeks but over the last 10 years.

Friends may call at the Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 6 to 9 p.m.  Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in the Shawville United Church, Shawville, Quebec at 11 a.m. Donations to the CHSLD Pontiac Community Hospital, Shawville United Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
