To all of Lornes' beloved family,
My sincere condolences go out to each and every one of you. Lorne was one of a kind! When that smile appeared teasingly on his face you never quite knew what words were about to be spoken! I've known and cared deeply for Lorne since I was a young child. Spent many days working side by side and mostly sitting chatting. The world was a better place with him in it as he always had a "tidbit" or some way to bring a smile to your face! May his precious soul and sense of humour rest in peace. Gone but certainly never forgotten.

We remember Lorne very well as a kind and thoughtful neighbour and person. I (Katharine) particularly appreciated meeting him when he operated (with John) The Red Barn of Antiques and Collectibles here on the Steele Line. It was a treasure trove of fascinating memorabilia, and Lorne knew a lot about the pieces he was selling, such as those wonderful Ottawa Valley broad axes. I spent a lot of good time there, particularly enjoying taking my mother, Edna, to visit the Barn. Lorne was lovely with her, and it made a most agreeable "mother and daughter outing."
I'm sorry to hear of his passing away. Eric and I both send the family our condolences.

Hearing of Lorne's loss has deeply saddened our entire Camp B'nai Brith family. Both my brother Jason and I grew up with Lorne as a friend and were privileged to have maintained our friendship during the camp off-season for many years, visiting during the winter months. Lorne was a true gentleman and an integral part of our Camp's success over many decades. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to your entire family during this difficult time. You will always be remembered as part of our CBB family.
With sympathy,
Adam Tanner

A gentle man who did everything and lived everyday with a "kind heart". Heidi and I and our whole family are deeply saddened with the news of Lorne's passing. It was an honour and a privilege to have worked with Lorne at Camp B'nai Brith of Ottawa. He shared his winter home with us in the summer and cared for the campers, staff and camp every day as if it was his own. Lady, Buster, Hawk, and Sport had a devoted caregiver. Who could say "no" to Lorne when he gave us Lady Carlingwood. Our sincerest sympathies and deepest condolences to Frank, John and Eileen. Our family hopes that all the fond memories of your brother will help you through this most difficult time. Lorne was a true blessing.

To Lorne's Family:
Lorne was a long-time friend of our sister, Margaret .. and he refused to call her anything but Mrs. Beattie .. he would just laugh when it was suggested he do otherwise. Phone calls and visits from Lorne and John meant a lot to Margaret over the years. Our Sincere Sympathy to all, Dorothy Cooligan and Joan Payne

What a shock to see Lorne’s face when I opened my Facebook page.
Missed our chats when Mom was in the Manor, Campbell’s Bay. He always was so friendly and, along with John, looked for info about Quyon and my family, every time we met!
What a lovely man!
Hope Fred will have the answers to his inquiries about Antiques!
You will be missed Lorne!
Rest In Peace.

I knew Lorne as a child, teenager and young adult, when I went to and then worked at Camp B’nai Brith of Ottawa. He was a kind and gentle man, who loved our camp and the kids who went there. I am sad at his passing. My prayers and sympathies to the entire family, but especially Frank.
