Obituary of Orville Thomas Lavigne

Veteran World War ll It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a great man and World War ll veteran, Orville Thomas Lavigne, 93 years of age, of Fort Coulonge, Quebec. Predeceased by his wife Violet Carmichael and siblings Irene (Fred Harriman), Doris (Real Gervais), Kathleen, Melvin, Jackie (Lorraine Soucie) and nephew Raymond Gervais. He will be missed by nieces and nephews Mary Lavigne (Jacques Matte), Norma Lavigne (Bobby Bechamp), Mary Elizabeth Harriman, Peter Gervais (Mireille Rancourt) and Elaine Brumby (Roy) plus many grand nieces and grand nephews. Orville was a World War ll veteran who served with The Fusiliers Mont Royal and was severely wounded on the battlefield of Normandy on July 24, 1945. He later (2014) received the Medal of La Legion D’Honneur and became honourary Chevalier de la Legion of which he was so proud.
