Claude was like Superman to many. He gave me a job at the Gas Station when I was 16 back in the early 90s . Best years of my life to be honest. I learned more about Business from Claude than I did from anyone else in this lifetime and that’s the truth. He was larger than life in our hometown of Quyon. This is really sad news to hear for many. To Helen, Joanne, Carmen my sincere condolences to your family.

We had lots of good times with Claude and Helen, from watching the Cargacho (?) burn down to wrestling pigs and housing them in my new car. Then there were a few of us who invested in the stock market. Risky stocks! We were kind of like today’s day traders. The good old days. Claude reserve me a cold one for when I join you in the forever home.

Je ne connaîtrai jamais son secret...il y a environ 40 ans de cela, mon oncle Claude nous avait démontré ses talents de magicien. On était dans sa cuisine, moi, Sylvie et tante Hélène. Il devait quitter la pièce, et moi, ou ma cousine, on touchait la table de la cuisine e avec un doigt juste une fois, n'importe où sur la table. Mon oncle Claude revenait dans la cuisine, et il passait 3 doigts sur toute la surface de la table, et il trouvait exactement le spot qu'on avait touché! Il n'y avait pas de two way mirror, tante Hélène ne lui faisait pas de signes, ni Sylvie, et il trouvait toujours le spot! Un vrai magicien! Va falloir que j'aille te voir tante Hélène, pour que tu me donnes son secret!

I am so sorry to learn of Claude's passing and want to extend my sincerest and deepest condolences to Helene and the entire Marcottte family during this difficult time. Growing up in Quyon, I spent a lot of time at Marcotte's gas station and engaged in many a conversation and laugh with Claude on a first-hand basis. I recall vividly when he extended the premises to include the pool hall, which in turn provided plenty of entertainment for all ages. Claude was always considered one of the guys to me and we played many a game of pool together back in the day. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this time.
