To the members of Art's family, please accept out sincere condolences at this sad time. We got to know Art on annual sleighrides at Northfork with the Antique Car Club of Pembroke and the wonderful meals that we enjoyed afterward, Our visits there were always most pleasant. The narrative that Art would provide while on the sleigh, traversing the forest trails in winter was most informative and made for a delightful experience overall. Art was a kind man who embraced the values in life that we all need to aspire to.

Our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Fleming and all of Art’s family. It was a privilege to have visited and enjoy many occasions at Northfork. Art’s love and care this beautiful farm and gardens brought so much pleasure to so many. After a delightful meal my husband Michael would disappear and sure enough we would find him on the back porch having a grand chat with Art, something he always looked forward to as much as the great food. We learned so much of the history of local people and of local folklore from Art. Art will be missed. Our thoughts are with the family at this very sad time.

To Francis and ALL Arts family:
It was always a pleasure to chat with Art about farm stuff. It was usually, it was after a delightful evening and a scrumptious supper at Arts greatest venture. Our last chat was at a "stay" in the Shawville hospital where I was lucky to share a room with Art. That time we talked about more serious things, like, how lucky we were to have such great families and that both our families and our dogs looked after us. We both realised that although we had to rely on our family to do the "heavy lifting" now; we could offer advice when asked and both felt a sense of "purpose!" We'll miss you Art; but may you RIP; You left a beautiful family and surrounding. (A job well done my friend!

We always enjoyed our friendly chats with Art when we visited Northfork. He talked about visiting the Rochon farm when
he was younger and he said he could still picture the barn where he would stable his horses. We learned a lot of interesting facts from him. He was such a wonderful kind person.

We have lost a GEM, one of the nicest man I have ever known , treated everyone in a special way, with his happy smiling disposition.
Never could I leave Northfork , without a little chat from his rocker, and remember asking him, what facial cream he used , to keep looking so young and without wrinkles lol
My most found memory , when he was in the hospital in Ottawa , so was my dad, as sick as he was, got someone to buy a get well card and gave it to me to give to my dad, I was so touch by his kindness , but sadly , never got to give to dad ,dad pass away , but this card help me in ways you will never know , he thought the world of my dad and my dad thought the world of him , 2 very hard working men , my you RIP Mr Fleming

I’m saddened by the news of Art’s passing and offer my sincere condolences. I have fond memories of Art from every visit to Northfork. My fondest memory is of Art taking Eli and I (with other friends) on the horse drawn sleigh in bitter cold covered with blankets through the trails up and down snowy hills on the property. He didn’t seem one bit cold and talked and joked with us the whole way. An amazing man.
