Obituary of Robert Charles Binder

ROBERT CHARLES BINDER 1930-2020 Lieutenant (N) Ret’d Sunday, February 23, 2020 before the morning light, Bob slipped away. Born in Toronto, Bob spent thirty-nine years in the Canadian Forces (Navy). He saw many ports including two years on exchange with the Royal Navy in England. Bob was the son of Charles Binder, a Bernardo Boy, and Isabella Lowery. He was predecesed by Thelma Williams the mother of of his three loved children: Greg in Trail BC; Robert in Los Angeles California and Heather (Wayne Maisonneuve) in Edmonton, AB. There are four Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. Bob’s sister, Mary, lives in Toronto. His cherished in-laws are Blythe & Carol McCleary, Bill & Susan McCleary and Jill Nicolic (late Nick). He loved all the McCleary Clan, his Rotary family and many friend. This kind gentle gentleman leaves behind his heartbroken wife, Joyce (McCleary). Holding hands for forty-four years was not nearly long enough but ‘I'll be waiting on the far side banks of Jordan I'll be sitting, drawing pictures in the sand And when I see you coming I will rise up with the shout And come running through the shallow waters reaching for your hand.’ *Jesse Winchester
