Obituary of Violet "Bunny" Foran (nee Hearn)

As quietly as she entered the world, Violet (Bunny) Foran (nee Hearn) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in her 90th year, joining her soul mate of 68 years, Dominic Foran. Predeceased by her best friend and sister Mary Margaret and brothers Joseph and Francis. Beloved mother to Tom Tracey (Linda), and very proud Grandma to Ryan, Jenn and Giulia and Big Grandma to Bella. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bunny grew up in Wolf Lake and went on to meet the handsome young lad Dominic who hailed from the other side of the mountain. They married in 1950 and settled into a cozy life in North Onslow where they ran a small general store for many years. Their home was always open to everyone, and you'd often see a car parked outside, as visitors enjoyed dropping in for their warm hospitality, which often included Bunny's homemade pies or a bowl of homemade soup. Bunny's eyes would light up when you walked in and she'd always scold you, 'Oh go on with you, leave your shoes on'!" For such a small, gentle, kind lady, Bunny had a big presence. She had many talents; a wonderful baker, a great cook and especially a class A quilter. Bunny made many quilts over the years, and everyone cherished the fine detail that went into it. Each quilt was a work of art and made with love which gave her great joy. Perhaps her biggest talent was her ability to make everyone in her family feel special and loved. Many thanks to the staff of the Friends of St Joseph’s Manor in Campbell’s Bay, where she and Dominic lived from 2017. Also, a special thank you to Rita and her staff in emergency for their compassion and care during her last days. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friends of St. Joseph’s Manor or St. Brigid’s Cemetery would be greatly appreciated. Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 1040 Clarendon Street, Quyon, Quebec on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 2 to 6 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow in St. Mary’s Church, Quyon, at 11 a.m. Spring Interment at St. Brigid’s Cemetery, North Onslow, Quebec. Bunny was a one-of-a-kind. True to herself. Generous, humble, welcoming, thoughtful, honest, considerate and a devoted Christian. Bunny would've been 90 in March. Knowing her, she didn't want a fuss and decided it was time to go see Dominic again...
