Obituary of Madeline Ostrom (nee Lepine)

Peacefully at the Pontiac Community Hospital, Shawville, Quebec on December 17, 2019, in her 89th year. Born January 9, 1931. Daughter of the late Hermas Lepine and Agnes McCallum. Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Asa Ostrom (2008). Survived by her only son Eldon (Grace Beauchamp), Bryson, Quebec. Predeceased by sons, William “Billy” (1996), Barry (2010) and Murray (2016) and also grandsons, Brody William (2015) and Sheldon Hermas (2017). Adored grandmother of Shawn (Lynn), Joey (Jennifer), Jammie (Johannah) and Kenny (Cassandra). Great-grandmother to Liam, Ashlyn, Emma, Avery & Maggie. Beloved godmother to Brian Ostrom. Sister of the late Lenny (Late June Presley), Alice (late Carl Ostrom), late Helen (Bob Cote), Frances (late Jim Charbonneau), late Joan (Garry Schmid), Veronica (Mansell Hawkins), Anita (late Ken Miller) & Gail (John Ouellet) and twin sister & brother, late David & late Dianne (1948). Also survived by many relatives, nieces, nephews and friends, especially her special life long friend, Betty Telford, Shawville, Quebec. Special thanks to her neighbours Maynard and Leona Tanner and all the tenants at the Bryson pavilion who cared and watched out for her daily. A fiddle funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Bryson, Quebec. Spring interment will be held at a later date in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Bryson, Quebec. Reception to follow at the Bryson Lions Club Hall immediately following the funeral mass. Donations to a charity of your choice or the Patro summer camp fund for underprivileged children in Fort-Coulonge, Quebec, would be greatly appreciated by the family. Her autistic grandson Sheldon spent many summers there.
