Obituary of Eleanor Mary Beardsley (nee Russell)

Beardsley, Eleanor Mary (Nee Russell) December 25, 1932- November 28, 2019. Eleanor passed away peacefully at the Kemptville Hospital after a brief illness and is now in the loving arms of our Lord. Preceded in death by her husband Charles Weston Beardsley (Charlie), her parents Charlie and Emily, sister Doris (Hodgins) and brother John. Eleanor is survived by her younger sister Shirley. Dear mother of Gordon (Julia) and David (Liz). Proud Nana of Shannon (Mike) Garon , Katie Beardsley, Chris (Jayme) Beardsley, Russell Beardsley and Connor Pender . Recently great grandmother to Cammera and Sariah Horvath , Branson Beardsley and Kate Garon. Dear sister-in-law to Milton (Micky) Hodgins. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephew, great nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Bristol, Quebec, Eleanor grew up in Pine Lodge where she lived and worked with her family. She graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital Nursing Class of 1954 and married Charlie in October of the same year.

Ellie was an avid and excellent golfer and tennis player winning many ribbons and trophies in her life time. She enjoyed many winters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and shared Charlie’s passion for boating spending many summers in the Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence River before retiring to the cottage at Bristol. She will be lovingly remembered by friends and family as the wonderful person she was and will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Private celebration of life service (invitation only) will be held by the family. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family.
