Obituary of Anna Stewart (nee Benoit)

Peacefully in hospital, Shawville, Quebec surrounded by her loving family after a struggle with brain cancer, our Lord Jesus Christ embraced her at 2:03 pm on September 23, 2018 at the age of 80 years.  Anna is survived by her husband, James Stewart, her children Sherry (Raymond Lepine), Shawn, Jamie (Sylvie Beland) and Heather, 4 grandchildren Scott, Spencer, Jacob and Caley and 4 great grandchildren Alexia, Talia, Livia and Nadia.  Dear sister of Helen (Pat Wallace), Barbara (Dave Graham), Ryan (Gisele Rogers), Keith (Rita Bazinet) and Phylis (Elwyn Kealey).  She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.  Mom will be remembered for her generosity, kindness and great humour. Her open-door policy to every generation was legendary as was her fame writing a column for the Equity, The Bryson News, which always ended up spoofing dad’s exploits.  Anna was a proud member of the Bryson Lionettes, CWL, TOPS and Golden Age Clubs. Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  Funeral will follow in Immaculate Conception Church, Bryson, Quebec at 11 a.m. Interment Parish Cemetery.  Donations to the Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care would be appreciated.
